A new Education offering: Virtual Playwriting!

Have you always wanted to give playwriting a shot? Ever been at the theater and thought, "I can do that"? Well you can, and now is your chance. Fells Point Corner Theatre is thrilled to offer our friends the opportunity to take a playwriting class from acclaimed local writer, Kimberley Lynne.

On this ten-week journey, Ms. Lynne will lead students through the play creation process - beginning with idea development, she will guide students in a peer review workshop setting to create a character monologue or a short, ten-minute play. The class will culminate in an online reading of the new work with a playwright talkback.

FPCT has had original plays and local playwrights at the heart of our mission since our inception in 1987! We are proud and excited to recommit to our community education programming with this class.

Kimberley Lynne has taught playwriting to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. She taught month-long playwriting residencies in Northern Ireland for five summers and has taught introductory playwriting in a summer KIPP program. Lynne is a produced playwright with a resume of over forty productions at both local and professional theatres. The Baltimore City Paper named her play, A Dickens of a Carol, the Best Holiday Show in 2003 and 2004. Lynne is a member of the Dramatist Guild and Actors Equity Association and holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing and Publishing Design from the University of Baltimore.
