Space Rentals at FPCT

PLEASE READ BEFORE REACHING OUT TO US ABOUT A POTENTIAL SPACE RENTAL:

We are thrilled to be able to partner with so many wonderful community groups in service to the great work that happens in Baltimore! It is one of our favorite things to do, especially because we know affordable space is hard to come by! However:

  • FPCT is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff.

  • Our space rental program is secondary to our mainstage and educational programming. We will rarely be able to accommodate requests or even requests for information with short notice. Most rental partnerships are usually planned several months in advance.

  • We will not be able to accommodate any rentals that are scheduled on dates when our own shows and educational programs are taking place. While not comprehensive in terms of potential conflicts, the dates of our mainstage shows and events are available for you to check immediately HERE. Space rentals for next season will be determined after our own programming is set.  If it isn't up on our website yet, it most likely isn't set yet.

  • We receive an extremely high volume of requests for space, and they are answered in order as volunteer time allows. It is not unusual for us to need some time to get back to you. Repeated, escalating requests through multiple platforms will not help. If you require an immediate response, we may not have the appropriate capacity to serve you.

  • If you reach out to us via another platform we will send you to this page first. It has a lot of information. Please read it. The more knowledgeable you are before you reach out, the faster we can help you!

  • FPCT does not ever pay to bring in unsolicited presenting acts or performances.

  • FPCT reserves the right to decline to engage in a partnership for any reason, including but not limited to a misalignment in values or a lack of appropriate volunteer capacity on our end.

COOL? AWESOME. CARRY ON.

RENTAL GUIDLINES

Booking Your Rental
All rental requests must be sent to
managingdirector@fpct.org. A rental is not confirmed, and space will not be held until a
contract has been signed by both parties. Payment is required in advance of your usage.
Please provide the following information:
• Description of your event
• Preferred dates and times
• Preferred rental space
• Expected attendance
• Will you need technical assistance (sound, lighting, etc)?

Technical Needs
All ticketed performance rentals must provide a Stage Manager and Box Office Attendant for each show. FPCT will offer a 1 hour walk-through of the space to answer any questions your technical team may have, and representatives will be available to answer questions via phone and email afterward as well. If you require additional assistance, such as lighting design, sound board operation, scenic construction, etc., FPCT can provide you with contact information for personnel who have worked in our spaces before, and you can negotiate their fees directly.

Marketing
For all rentals, if desired, FPCT will help publicize your event by sending the event information you provide to our subscriber email list, as well as promoting the event on our social media feeds. To that end, however you must provide concise marketing copy, and any posters, programs, logos, or pictures unless otherwise negotiated.

Ticketing
All ticketed rental events must handle their own ticketing and payments.

Concessions
For any ticketed performance FPCT can provide concessions stock as well as a person to manage and sell them. If FPCT provides the concessions, then the sales revenue will also belong to FPCT. Other arrangements for providing food or drink can be negotiated upon request.

Code of Conduct and COVID Policies
All rentals will be provided with a copy of FPCT’s Code of Conduct policy. It is expected that all members of the renting party will abide by the Code of Conduct policy while engaged at FPCT. FPCT reserves the right to terminate any rental for unsafe practices or behaviors deemed in violation of the rental agreement.
