Introducing Barbara Madison Hauck as the new Volunteer Advocate for Fells Point Corner Theatre! Created in June, this position works to address the issues of abuse and accountability within our space to ensure that all artists who choose to devote their time and energy to FPCT feel safe, respected and, above all, heard. The Volunteer Advocate is responsible for publicizing the theatre's standards regarding proper conduct and harassment (of any kind), providing production-specific and administrative contacts for reporting any concerns or breaches of our policies, and working to resolve any issues that arise quickly and conscientiously. Barbara is also working on behalf of FPCT with WeHUB (We Hear You, Baltimore). As a member of WeHUB's pilot program, FPCT pledges to uphold the policies put forth by WeHUB, and collaborate with this valuable organization to expand and refine those policies to serve artistic institutions across Baltimore. As a former sex educator, Barbara has been trained in preventing harassment, creating safer spaces and crisis intervention. As a lifelong member of the Baltimore theatre community, she is a fierce supporter of this city's artists. If you have any questions about the Volunteer Advocate position or the policies in place at FPCT, please feel free to reach out to Barbara directly at missmadasthesun@gmail.com.
