FPCT/TCT ANNOUNCE 2017-18 SEASON AUDITIONS

  • Saturday July 8, 12-4pm

  • Sunday July 9, 4-8pm

  • Monday July 10, 7 -10pm


The Fells Point Corner Theater and The Collaborative Theatre Company invite you to audition for the 2017-2018 season of #UnfinishedBusiness.

Auditions will be held at the Fells Point Corner Theater, 251 South Ann Street in Baltimore. To schedule, email a copy of your headshot/resume to piratesdad@netzero.net indicating two preferred days/time frames. Please prepare a contemporary monologue of no more than 2 minutes in length to which, once finished, you will be asked to adjust by one of the auditors and perform again. Actors of all ages, ethnicities and identifications are welcome and encouraged to audition.

I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick

September 8, 2017- October 1, 2017

Directed by Mark Franceschini

Description of Characters:

Felicia Dantine: Andrew Rally's real estate broker who claims that she can speak to the dead. Age: 30-45

Andrew Rally: A television actor and star of a recently canceled soap opera, he has moved from Los Angeles to New York where he will soon be playing Hamlet on stage. Overwhelmed by the challenge of taking on the role, he has unwittingly moved into the apartment of the deceased John Barrymore, perhaps the greatest Shakespearean actor who ever lived. Age: Thirties

Deirdre McDavey:  Rally's girlfriend. She is committed, much to his annoyance, to "saving herself" until they are married. Age:25-35

Lillian Troy: Rally’s elderly agent, who remembers fondly an affair she had with John Barrymore many years ago, in the apartment Rally now lives in. Age: 65-80

John Barrymore: THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST.

Gary Peter Lefkowitz: A cocky, pompous television producer who gave Rally his first big break. He wants Rally to move back to Los Angeles to film a new television series and can't understand why he isn't jumping at the chance. Age: 30-50

GERTRUDE STEIN -  THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST.

ALICE B. TOKLAS(Fifties) -  dark and almost eagle-like in her angular looks. The sharp-tongued witticisms come as a surprise from this understated woman

Description of Characters

PHILOMENA (PHIL) JOHNSON- mid/late 40’s, divorced African-American neighbor of BETH and MATT; math professor and native of Richmond, VA. 

SAMUEL BRODIE- 10-12 years old. Farmer’s son from the outskirts of Richmond, VA.  

BETH DIPAULA WELLS- late 20’s, wife of MATT and daughter of ROSE; 8 ½ - 9 months pregnant with her first child; native of Baltimore, Md. 

MATT WELLS-  late 20’s/early 30’s, BETH’s husband and Richmond, VA. native. 

ROSEMARY DIPAULA-  50’s/60’s; BETH’s widowed mother; lives in Baltimore, MD.   

*All Roles for I Hate Hamlet, The Woman in Black, Gertrude Stein and a Companion and the 10x10x10 are volunteer positions. Actors cast in A Christmas Carol or The Quickening will receive a stipend.*
