With an original, record-breaking run of 1466 performances in 4 years at the Theatre Royal in London, 1892, Charley's Aunt has enjoyed several revivals, translations, and film adaptations, and has charmed audiences for over a century.

Two young men, Jack and Charley, scheme to catch the admiration of two young ladies by inviting them to meet Charley's worldly and wealthy aunt for dinner. When, at the last minute, she must cancel her visit, Jack and Charley quickly bully their buddy Fancourt Babberley into donning a wig, a skirt and bloomers. All seems to be solved, until the real aunt turns up and hilarity ensues. A classic farce for the whole family!

Charley's Aunt is a splendidly written piece of light entertainment and bound to make you titter!"

"Fells Point Corner Theatre is a long-established company, this year transitioning from its roots as a community theater to being a small non-equity professional troupe. If the quality of this delightful production is any indication, the transition promises to be a successful one. " -DC Metro Theater Arts

"Comedy, when done right, is timeless and Charley’s Aunt is a fast-paced, humorous romp and farce of mistaken identity in a bygone era that’s still side-splitting funny in today’s age. Some individual performances are better than others, but this ensemble, as a whole, is a hard-working, well-oiled machine with great chemistry and a prodigious comprehension of the material." -Backstage Baltimore

"You should go, and try to let loose, and just enjoy the show. Is the material a bit dated? Is the overwrought acting in some parts too much? Yes, but all in all Shoemaker is worth the price of admission alone, and who doesn’t need a good laugh this holiday season to forget all the other nonsense? Go, laugh, and revel in the nonsense." -BITR Sisters
