The Homecoming - Poster

The Homecoming

January 16 - February 15, 2009

Playwright: Harold Pinter
Director: Barry Feinstein
Cast:

In an old and slightly seedy house in North London lives a family of men: Max, the aging but still aggressive patriarch; his younger, ineffectual brother Sam; and two of Max’s three sons, neither of whom is married -- Lenny, a small-time pimp, and Joey, who dreams of success as a boxer.

Arriving in the middle of the night amidst this sinister abode is the eldest son, Teddy, who spent the past six years teaching philosophy in America, and is now bringing his wife, Ruth, home to visit the family she has never met. What ensues must be seen to believe!

"The Homecoming" was a Tony Award winning play when it premeired on Broadway in 1967, and was again nominated for several awards in its recent 2008 Broadway revival. Fells Point Corner Theatre now brings this Pinter masterpiece to Baltimore, in what is sure to be the can't miss production of the new year!

First of all, it really is that good... Forty years after its Broadway debut titillated and outraged American theatergoers, this Harold Pinter masterpiece of family warfare continues to unsettle... It insists that some shadowy part of you is part of it.

Ben Brantley - The New York Times (Review of the 2008 Broadway Revival)

The Homecoming is a brilliant piece of writing, one almost no other English-speaking playwright would be capable of.
