FPCT Spotlight - November 25, 2010
Patty Coleman
What drives you to act?
Patty: The visible expression of the human condition. It makes me more aware of, and sympathic to, people's frailties....not only in regard to the characters in the play, but also to the actors on stage and the people I encounter in my life.
How are you like or unlike Ruth?
Patty: Ruth likes to be in control at all times, me.....some of the time (my husband's answer may differ). Ruth is generally sarcastic, I am selectively sarcastic (so as not to hurt people's feelings). I love children.....Ruth not so much.
Tell us about your life outside the theater.
Patty: I am truly blessed to be married to my High School sweetheart for 27 years and counting. We have a 23 yr. old son whom we love dearly (especially since he moved out ....thank you Patrick), and 2 golden retrievers named Madison and Sadie Mae. Besides doing voice-over work , I also substitute teach in Anne Arundel County. My husband Dan and I love adventure. We are certified scuba divers, and we spent our 25th anniversary on safari in South Africa.
What are your top three movies of all times?
Patty: Sophie's Choice, Pride and Prejudice, The Ten Commandments , It's a Wonderful Life .....oops that's 4. Oh..and did I mention Twelve Angry Men?
What is your greatest weakness?
Patty: Trying to make everyone happy. You can't please all the people, all of the time. .... Oh and movie theatre popcorn!
