Kate Volpe
What is your favorite role?
Kate: I can honestly say I have been very lucky to have been cast in some pretty great roles in my career. All of the characters I get to play have special meaning to me, like friends that have come and gone in life. Some I miss, some I'm happy I don't have to see on a regular basis. My favorite roles are the ones I have yet to do.
How are you most like May?
Kate: Like May I have been in situations where my affections were - shall we say "misplaced" :) I think she is tough, and I think hope is what keeps her going. I can certainly relate to that. Both May and I are not afraid to keep being the 'fool' for love. Love is something we both believe in, like a tangible quality, and we both refuse not to put our faith in love.
How are May and you different?
Kate: Well, I don't have a brother so that is a major difference! I am also blessed to have awonderful support base of family and friends. May is much more of a loner than I am, I'm more of a social butterfly. Unlike May, I've been working one or more jobs since I was 14. I also need a home base, my own space to come home to. I couldn't be a drifter like Macy's life has caused her to be. And my belongings would NEVER fit in one suitcase.
What is your favorite thing to do in Baltimore?
Kate: Sunday morning farmers market under 83, then the Ravens game with friends.
Aside from acting, do you have any hobbies?
Kate: Sports! Watching, not playing. I am a big sports fan, mostly NFL and Nascar, but any sport will do. I'm also a bookworm, I love to read. I spend as much time as I can with my hilarious friends. We enjoy big laughs, great food, a few drinks and usually some Rock Band as well.
From where do you get your inspiration?
Kate: Everywhere! I am constantly soaking up feelings, impressions, and ideas. I love to sit back and watch people interact, I find it interesting to watch human nature. I also draw a lot from my own experiences.
