FPCT Spotlight - July 27, 2011
Eve Carlson
Are you anything like the characters you play in the show?
Eve: I am nothing like my character(s), which makes them quite interesting to play. My stage roles also reflect my behind the scenes position as production intern, which helps me immerse myself in the characters both on and offstage.
What has it been like working with the director, Juliana and the rest of the cast of The Sculptress?
Eve: Juliana has always kept her vision for the piece in mind throughout the rehearsal process. She knows how to balance work and play. She has been a pleasure to work with!
The cast of this show is so wonderfully quirky. We're quite the motley crew but we mesh so well together. A good cast dynamic is such a gift!
What else do you do when you aren't acting or working back stage?
Eve: I am a rising senior at Bucknell University majoring in Psychology and Theatre. I am a member of Delta Gamma and "Two Past Midnight", an on campus a cappella group. Look out for our newest album "We Made a CD!".
I recently spent a semester in Denmark studying the arts of eating Danish and drinking beer. I very much wish that I could apparate back at any give moment.
What are some favorite roles you have had in the past?
Eve: Throughout my college career so far, I have played the mother-in-law in Blood Wedding, Peg Prentice in Curtains, and myself in a devised version of The Bacchae.
What is your dream role?
Eve: My dream role would have to be Stevie in Albee's The Goat.
What is on the horizon?
Eve: Upon graduating I hope to pursue further education in counseling psychology with a concentration in drama therapy.
